Upstock launched in Australia after a $5.5 million raise

Upstock took its wholesale ordering platform into Australia on the back of a $5.5 million raise. The app cut order processing for cafes, bars and their suppliers from hours to minutes a day, replacing the phone calls, texts and spreadsheets most hospitality wholesale still runs on.

We backed Upstock because hospitality wholesale ordering is large, repetitive and almost entirely manual, which makes it a strong fit for a marketplace that both sides use every day. Order volume compounds as more venues and suppliers join, and a second country is where that compounding either repeats or does not. The team came out of Xero and knows how to build software that small businesses adopt without hand-holding.
