Foundry Lab debuted its microwave casting technology at Formnext 2022, pitching quicker and cheaper metal casting. The system turns a CAD file into a cast aluminum, magnesium, zinc or stainless steel part the same day, against the one to six weeks that investment, sand and die casting take.
We backed Foundry Lab because casting lead times are a persistent drag on engineering and manufacturing, and same-day metal parts change how teams design and iterate. A trade show floor is where that claim meets the engineers who live with the current wait. The approach delivers production-grade material properties rather than a prototype substitute, which is what lets it compete for real work.
