Looking Glass started shipping its 8K holographic display

The company began shipping the world's first 8K glasses-free holographic display, after a decade spent making holograms that a group can look at with no headset at all. The display projects many perspectives of a scene at once, giving depth to content for enterprise, medical, retail and museum work.

We backed Looking Glass Factory because it makes 3D content viewable by a room of people at once, which removes the headset barrier that has held immersive display technology back. Shipping an 8K unit is the point where the resolution stops being the excuse for why 3D content looks like a demonstration. As 3D data becomes central to design, medicine and spatial computing, shared displays that need no hardware on your face fit a clear and growing need.
